Summarizing my months-long internship experience at into a half-page essay was a challenging task.
Currently, I am two months into my internship as a UX writer in King Power Click. I was exposed to real-work responsibilities alongside my colleagues. I have met a lot of nice people here.
If there is one thing I would like point out during my time here, is that the people here taught me to know when and where to shift between being professional for work purposes, and spontaneously carefree.
Fortunately, I was given the opportunity to try out tasks apart from my usual duties of monitoring and editing texts on the King Power online store. Such examples are projects, interviews and company events. I was pretty much ‘trained’ to understand the workflow as fast as I could to assure that I could catch up with my team, as well as blend into my new temporary workplace.
These diverse tasks have also helped me in recognizing what I would want in my future career and the skills I could improve in or additional skills. For example, I needed to improve on my knowledge in technology as in this day and age, technology has become one of the key elements in today’s industry.
Other than skills you would expect from a tech company, I learned the importance of balancing your work with your social life, updating your teammates on your progress, understanding the whole aim and content of each task though your responsibility is potentially minor, as well as being flexible and adaptable to changes and uncertainty.
